Understanding the Section Dashboard

Overview

The Section Dashboard provides a high-level overview of an entire assessment type, such as Workplace Health and Safety, Aquatic Health and Safety, Child Safety, Sustainability or Psychosocial Safety.

The dashboard is designed to help facilities quickly understand their current level of maturity, monitor progress towards their goals and identify areas that may require additional attention. Rather than reviewing individual questions one at a time, the Section Dashboard provides a summary of performance across the entire assessment and highlights where improvement efforts may have the greatest impact.

Because Assessment Manager is a living assessment system, all information displayed within the Section Dashboard automatically updates as questions are reviewed, maturity ratings change and evidence is added.

What Information is Available on the Section Dashboard?

The Section Dashboard includes:

  • Overall Maturity Rating

  • Facility Goal

  • Module-by-Module Maturity Ratings

  • Top Performing Questions

  • Items That Need Attention

Together, these insights provide a complete picture of how your facility is currently performing within a particular assessment type.

Section Dashboard - Assessment Manager

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Open an Assessment Type

From the Assessment dashboard, locate the assessment type you wish to review and select Update Assessment.

This will open the Section Dashboard for that assessment type and provide a summary of your facility's current maturity and performance.

Step 2: Review Your Overall Maturity Rating

At the top of the Section Dashboard, you will see your current overall maturity rating displayed both numerically and graphically.

This maturity rating provides an immediate indication of where your facility currently sits within that assessment type and can be used to monitor progress as improvements are implemented over time.

Step 3: Review Your Facility Goal

Alongside your overall maturity rating is your facility goal for that assessment type.

The goal represents the maturity level and target percentage that your facility is working towards over the next 12 months. Comparing your current maturity rating against your goal allows you to quickly understand whether your facility is progressing as expected or whether additional focus may be required.

Step 4: Review Module-by-Module Maturity Ratings

The Section Dashboard displays the overall maturity rating for each module within the assessment.

Module ratings allow you to quickly identify areas that are performing strongly and those that may require additional attention. It is common for different modules to be at different stages of maturity depending on the systems, processes and evidence available within the facility.

Step 5: Review Your Top Performing Questions

The dashboard highlights your highest-performing questions across the assessment.

These questions often represent areas of good practice and can help identify strengths that may be shared across other modules or facilities. Reviewing your top-performing questions can also provide confidence that systems and processes in those areas are well embedded and supported by evidence.

Step 6: Review Items That Need Attention

The Section Dashboard also identifies questions that require further attention.

These questions may have lower maturity ratings or may not have been reviewed within the past 12 months. They often represent the greatest opportunities for improvement and should be prioritised for review to ensure the assessment remains accurate and current.

Step 7: Navigate to a Module

The Section Dashboard is also your starting point for exploring individual modules.

Selecting a module will take you to the Module Dashboard, where you can review module-specific information and drill down into individual assessment questions.

Tips and Best Practice

The Section Dashboard should be reviewed regularly rather than only when undertaking an assessment review. Because all information is live, the dashboard provides an up-to-date picture of your facility's current maturity and progress.

Pay particular attention to items that need attention and modules with lower maturity ratings, as these areas often provide the greatest opportunities for improvement.

It is equally important to recognise areas that are performing well. Top-performing questions and modules can provide valuable examples of good practice and help guide improvements in other areas.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are some modules performing better than others?

Different modules often mature at different rates depending on the systems, resources and evidence available within those areas.

Why are some questions listed as needing attention?

Questions may require attention because they have lower maturity ratings or because they have not been reviewed within the past 12 months.

Does the Section Dashboard update automatically?

Yes. All information within the Section Dashboard automatically updates whenever changes are made to question ratings, comments or evidence.

Can I update maturity ratings directly from the Section Dashboard?

No. Maturity ratings are updated from the individual Question Page.

How often should I review the Section Dashboard?

We recommend reviewing the Section Dashboard regularly throughout the year and particularly whenever significant improvements have been implemented or before undertaking improvement planning activities.
