Understanding the Facility Benchmark Dashboard

Overview

The Facility Benchmark Dashboard allows organisations with multiple aquatic facilities to compare one facility against another within the same organisation. It provides valuable insights into how individual facilities are performing and helps identify areas of excellence, opportunities for improvement and examples of good practice that can be shared across the organisation.

Unlike the assessment dashboards, which focus on a single facility, the Facility Benchmark Dashboard provides a side-by-side comparison of maturity ratings across facilities. This allows organisations to better understand differences in performance and identify where additional support, resources or improvement activities may be required.

The dashboard can be used to compare performance across any subscribed assessment type, including Workplace Health and Safety, Aquatic Health and Safety, Child Safety, Sustainability and Psychosocial Safety.

What Information is Available on the Facility Benchmark

Dashboard?

The Facility Benchmark Dashboard includes:

  • Assessment Section Selection

  • Module Selection

  • Facility-by-Facility Comparisons

  • Module Maturity Ratings

  • Individual Question Maturity Ratings

Together, these insights help organisations understand how maturity varies across facilities and where opportunities exist to improve consistency and share good practice.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Open the Facility Benchmark Dashboard

From the Benchmark menu, select Facility Benchmark Dashboard.

This dashboard is designed specifically for organisations that manage multiple facilities and provides a comparative view of maturity ratings across those facilities.

Step 2: Select an Assessment Section

Use the Assessment Section dropdown to select the assessment type that you would like to benchmark.

For example, you may wish to compare facilities within Workplace Health and Safety, Aquatic Health and Safety, Child Safety, Sustainability or Psychosocial Safety.

Changing the assessment section will automatically update the dashboard and display benchmarking information for that assessment type.

Step 3: Select a Module

Once an assessment section has been selected, use the Module dropdown to choose the specific module you would like to review.

Selecting a module allows you to move beyond overall maturity and understand how facilities are performing in a specific operational area.

The dashboard will automatically update to display the maturity ratings for that module and all questions contained within it.

Step 4: Review Facility Comparisons

The dashboard displays the maturity rating for each facility within your organisation.

Reviewing these ratings allows you to quickly identify facilities that are performing strongly and those that may require additional support or attention.

Differences in maturity are normal and often reflect variations in resources, processes, priorities and operational practices across facilities.

Step 5: Review Question-Level Maturity Ratings

The Facility Benchmark Dashboard also displays the maturity ratings for all questions within the selected module.

Question-level benchmarking is particularly valuable because it helps identify specific areas where facilities may be performing differently. This information can be used to identify practical opportunities for improvement and share successful approaches between facilities.

Step 6: Identify Opportunities and Share Good Practice

Once benchmarking information has been reviewed, consider where there may be opportunities to improve consistency across the organisation.

Facilities performing strongly in particular questions or modules may have systems, processes or practices that can be adopted by other facilities.

Similarly, facilities with lower maturity ratings may benefit from additional support, training or resources.

Tips and Best Practice

The Facility Benchmark Dashboard should be used as a learning and improvement tool rather than a performance ranking exercise.

One of the greatest benefits of facility benchmarking is the opportunity to share good practice between facilities. High-performing facilities often provide valuable insights and practical examples that can help improve outcomes across the organisation.

When reviewing benchmarking information, focus on understanding why differences exist rather than simply identifying which facility has the highest maturity rating.

Regular benchmarking discussions between facility managers can also help create consistency and encourage collaboration across the organisation.
